For Chinese, during confinement, the mother if possible, should not touch water too much. The reason is that water is cold, and could cause "wind". Hence, during confinement, I actually did not bathe Kit Yi. All the bathing was done by the confinement lady or better known in Cantonese language as "Pui Yuet".
I only bath Kit Yi once during 26th days of the confinement, just for practise, while the confinement lady witness the entire process, helping and remind me of the steps I might have forgotten.
During the early days, I thought that I could not handle bathing Kit Yi alone, as she was so small. Hence, my husband after getting advices from other "mother" friends, he bought a bath support for me. Mesh bath support from http://www.littlewhiz.com. This bath support is design to keep mums hands-free during bathing. Below is the picture of the bath support, taken from Littlewhiz website. The support cost RM22.90.
After the confinement lady has left, I actually bath Kit Yi without the support, and I can manage it without any issue. How do I bath Kit Yi? I will update later.
